Secretary General of the Jumhooree Party, Ahmed Sameer has said that the “Closer to the People” activity has so far been very successful.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, Sameer said that although the campaign is held in Male’ the party has met with many islanders as well. He said that many of those who were met support Jumhooree Party.
He said that the party is now trying to survey the state of the Jumhooree Party throughout Maldives. He said that a special research on the development of the party since 2008 is currently being conducted.
“Our leader Gasim Ibrahim is a person who moves forward having a close relationship with the people. There to make this perfectly smooth we are conducting a study on the state of the party among the people,” he said.
He said that the members have been increasing for the party steadily however forms will be submitted to the Elections Commission after the commission finds a solution to form issues raised by the Jumhooree Party.
