Maldives National Defence Force has started their 4th Quran Recitation Competition tonight at a special ceremony held at Coast Guard Building.
The competition is organized annually, where the participants are evaluated for the correct use of “tajweed” (recitation, modulation and memorization).
The competition aims to communicate and instill religious values in children and adults, while promoting the correct use of Arabic as in Quran, The wholly book of Muslims.
Tha competition has 5 categories from age of 5 to 18 years and from 18 years and above with 154 Participants.
The Competition is for the MNDF Staff, their Families and Children from Children’s Center (Kudakudhinge Hiyaa).
“The participants of the Qur’an competition reflects their deep interest in learning the Qur’an, The Holy Qur’an is a complete guide for all the Muslims and is a blessing for the entire creation of the world.”
Sheikh Nasrulla Ali was the Chief Guest. Senior Officials of MNDF, Family Members, MNDF Staff were present at the Ceremony.
MNDF is also Conducting Courses to train Quran Teachers and Imams for the Institution.
