The Maldivian delegation taking part in the fourth China South Asia Expo or the Kunming Fair has departed for China. The Fair will be held from the 12th to the 17th of this month.
Chinese Government is working to ensure that this year’s fair is a successful one. The Fair is one of the largest exhibitions Maldives is taking part so far.
In addition to trade, the Fair will focus on tourism promotion, with a cultural presentation and a gala night featuring Maldivian food.
The Governments of the Maldives and China have been working to ensure the Fair a resounding success. Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Wang Fukang and Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed has been engaging in discussions to ensure the fair is carried out successfully.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has stated that he hoped the fair will give a boost to the ambitious Silk Road Initiative.
