Former First Lady and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has won the primaries for the Democratic Party.
If she manages to win against Donald Trump and his anti-Islamic rhetoric, then it would be a move cheered on by millions who hate Trump.
In spite of this, Hillary rising to power is not a favorable option for the Maldives. Amal Clooney, lawyer for former President Mohamed Nasheed, and her husband,
actor George Clooney are two of the biggest donors to Hillary’s campaign. Saying that they have a vested interest in the outcome of the campaign is an understatement.
Therefore, Hillary winning the election could spell potential issues to the Maldives.
Many individuals around the globe are celebrating Hillary’s win. Many have said the primary results show that America was inching away from strict views and a clear indication that America will act on vested interests.
