Papa hearings held in secrecy over MNDF request
The hearings of the case filed against Ahmed Fayaz Ali Riza (Papa) over the explosion aboard the Finifenmaa had been held in secrecy over MNDF request.

Fayaz had been charged with evidence tampering on board the Finifenmaa following the explosion on September 28. Fayaz had been charged for banning Police from boarding the vessel.

Officers Moosa Zamer and Ahmed Thiham had also been charged along with Papa. All three have been charged with obstruction of justice charges.

In the morning session of the hearings, MNDF had requested to conduct the hearings in secrecy as a weapons explosive expert had given his testimony.

Papa had previously served as the head of Special Protection Group (SPG) and the armory. Following the explosion, he had been dismissed from his position and given a demotion. Most of the witnesses in connection to the case had already given their testimonies.
