Government has proposed an amendment to Civil Service Act, which will allow Ministers to approve Permanent Secretaries of the Ministries.
At the First Sitting of the Second Session of the People’s Majlis held today, First Readings were held for two Bills.
They were the Bill on Amendment to the Maldives Civil Service Act (Act No. 5/2007), tabled on behalf of the Government by Abdul Latheef Mohamed, MP for Dhidhdhoo, and the Bill on Amendment to the Monetary Securities Act (Act No. 2/2006) tabled on behalf of the Government by Hon. Abdulla Rifau, MP for Maafannu-South.
First Reading was also held for the declaration tabled by Mohamed Abdul Kareem, MP for Henveiru-South, in accordance with Article 142 of the Regulation Governing the Proceedings of the People’s Majlis.
The People’s Majlis will meet again on 13 June 2016 at 1030 hrs.
