The Health Ministry has appealed all not to spread lies and misinformation regarding health related issues.
Speaking to the press, the State Minister Hussein Rasheed requested the media not to continue spreading lies claiming that there is an Ebola suspect in Maldives while there is none.
He said that the media should be very careful at what they spread and not put the tourism industry of Maldives in jeopardy by spreading such a lie without confirming the news.
Hussein Rasheed called the medias who spread this misinformation in their news outlets to correct it and not cause unnecessary panic.
Meanwhile, the ministry stated that there is no Ebola patient or Ebola suspect in Maldives. Dr. Aroona stated that the Nigerian man was put in quarantine facility in Hulhumale’ when he showed signs of sickness however up until now it is not known that he is an Ebola infected patient.
