Commissioner of Police Hussein Waheed has said that it is a shame for any Maldivian to malign and defame the security forces and the law enforcement agency.
Commissioner of Police made this remark in a special interview given to DhiTV. He said that it is shameful any Maldivian to engage in such activities whether it is done in Maldives or abroad. He said that no one who is sincere for the nation will ever try to malign the security forces of Maldives.
The commissioner said that the allegations that there are extremists within the ranks of the security forces is a slander and a great lie. He said that he is very saddened that Maldivians are making such slanderous statements to achieve their political motives.
He said that if praying regularly is extremism then the Police and the security forces are extremists.
He said that the Maldivian security forces have been trained upon Islamic moral values since long and it is not something new.
Commissioner Hussein Waheed said that the Police preserve their five daily prayers and fasts.
