Judicial Service Commission has suspended GDh. Thinadhoo Court Magistrate Ibrahim Rasheed.
JSC said he was suspended indefinitely as the Police was currently investigating a case against him. He was suspended under the powers granted to JSC from clause 42 of the guidelines. As terms of his suspension, he will be barred from his duties and responsibilities and from attending work.
Police had begun investigations after he was discovered intoxicated and in possession of narcotics. However, he had been released after High Court decreed that a warrant from an apex court was not sought out during his arrest.
