Zahir Naseer was buried this evening following Asr prayers.
The statesman was buried this evening following funeral prayers, which was led by former President Maumoon Abdul Qayyoom in Masjid Mohamed Thakurufaanu Auzam. The prayers and burial were attended by many.
Zahir Naseer was noted for his volunteer work, especially in the sporting arena, training a generation of sports enthusiasts and players. He was noted for being a meticulous planner and a detail oriented person, kind hearted and did not discriminate between individuals.
Many had commended his work ethic, calling him a golden child of the nation.
