Islamic Ministry has stated that President Abdullah Yameen had attached importance to making this Ramadan a successful one and as such the Ministry will be making this a reality.
Islamic Minister Dr. Ahmed Ziyad Baqir today said that traditionally a maahefun is carried out in every government office. He added that the maahefun held May 31 and June 1 will be different. He said scholars will conduct question and answer session in addition to distributing information pamphlets.
Islamic Ministry said a mega maahefun aimed for families will be held on June 3 and that the Ministry will be providing dates, water, fish and coconut. The Ministry said scholars will conduct question and answer session in addition to distributing information pamphlets in this as well.
The moon sighting ceremony will also be different as well, with Ministry providing additional information. Dr. Ziyad appealed to local tv stations to broadcast the ihya sessions conducted every night of Ramadan.
Dr. Ziyad added that the government had brought in many hafez to conduct taraweeh prayers.
