Air Asia wishes to connect Maldives and rest of the world: CEO
Air Asia CEO Ireen Umar has said the aim of the company was to connect the Maldives and the rest of the world.

Speaking in the ceremony held in Hotel Jen today, to open the Air Asia Travel and Service Center, Ireen said the airline currently connects 19 flights from 11 nations and flights between Maldives and Kuala Lumpur.

“Many visitors use Air Asia to travel to Maldives, taking advantage of the connecting flights Japan, ASEAN countries,”

Ireen said the current flights to the Maldives were operating at 85 percent occupancy and quite successful. Noting that Air Asia operates flights to 100 destinations and will seek to expand markets to the Maldives.

Speaking in the ceremony, Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer had congratulated the company for the successes they had achieved over the past seven years.
