Secretary General of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), Mr. Akbar Khan, arrived in the Maldives today on an official visit at the invitation of Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed, Speaker of the People’s Majlis.
The Secretary General made a courtesy call on the Speaker today at the House of People’s Majlis. At the meeting, they reviewed the relationship between the People’s Majlis and the CPA and discussed ways and means of further strengthening the relationship.
The Secretary General has begun to meet senior members ofParliamentary Groups in the People’s Majlis. He is also scheduled to meet some Government Ministers during the visit.
