MDA Leader Ahmed Shiyam Mohamed has stated that there were many traitors living abroad and that a law had to be made that would ban those traitors from returning back home. He urged MPs to be more aware of this situation.
Speaking in the closing ceremony of the “Fahi 913” Shiyam said that the nation had to be protected from those traitors.
Shiyam said that many concessions granted to Maldivian fish exports had been nullified due to the statements made by former President Mohamed Nasheed in Copenhagen over religious freedom in the country. He said EU had begun to demand for secularism from the country following these statements and had nullified the duties as a penalty.
Shiyam further said that Maldives had remained an independent nation due to Islam, adding that President Yameen will uphold this mandate.
