President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom has stated that he will formally launch his campaign for 2018 when the time is right.
Speaking in the ceremony to conclude the “Fahi 913”, President Yameen said that he was not waiting for a moment to start the campaign and that he did not have to seek permits for that either. He said that he will initiate proceedings from within the Party when the time comes.
He said that he would not have finished the work he had set in his mandate as President during these five years.
The President said the 25 storey building of IGMH is expected to be finished in around two years, but added that the hospital will be a complete one when it became a regional benchmark in health services and attracted medical tourism.
He added that he wished to see youth developed from the sports arenas constructed for youth. President Yameen also added that he wished to see youth attain remarkable results from local education and go forth to achieve higher education in foreign universities to repeat their performance.
He also said the airport expansion project will create an airport catering to the largest vessels and provided state of the art services.
The President said that his ultimate attempt was to upgrade Maldives to the level of Singapore and Dubai. He announced that this year he will launch a project to expand Henveyru Artificial Beach area.
