The Imam on Friday called on all Maldivians to structure the schedule of the Ramadan days in order to maximize the time spent on for prayers.
The Imam, in his weekly sermon, had also advised all those who had missed out on their fasting in the previous Ramadan to compensate for it. He also urged to fulfil all fasts made as pledges.
The Imam noted that the Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) had not fasted on all days on months except for the month of Ramadan, but had increased the number of fasts observed in the month of Shauban. He said the Prophet (PBUH) had done so in order to maximize the benefits and to grow closer to god as the last 15 days of Shauban month were revered.
The sermon also highlighted on the importance of reforming the actions, adding that Muslims have to refrain from actions such as raising tempers, lying, use of profanity and other such actions.
He added that the last 15 days of Shauban were not particularly scared, adding that there was no special dua or prayer or fast to be observed in those days.
