230 students have graduated from 12 courses conducted by Polytechnic, with the institute aiming to train an additional 1000 students.
Speaking in the ceremony held this morning, Education Minister Dr. Aishath Shiham said the courses were aimed at training and molding youth to the job market and create skills. She said that this was a crucial part of President Abdullah Yameen’s vision for the youth.
She said the Polytechnic aimed to shape youth to the job market 531 youth and 110 school children attending and completing the various programs held.
“This is a total of 641 students. We have opened opportunity for 1000 participants to take part in the June session. The number will increase in future courses.”
The Minister appealed all youth to maximize on the lessons learnt from the courses and serve their families and nation. She added that the youth have to ensure they were respected and recognized for their abilities.
She thanked the Polytechnic management and employees and lecturers for conducting the programs.
