Maldives and Kuwait has signed an agreement to extend cooperation in trade.
The agreement was signed in a ceremony held in Ibrahim Nasir International Airport held today. Trade and Commerce Minister of Kuwait Yoosuf Mohamed Al Ali and Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed signed the agreement on behalf of the respective nations.
Speaking in the ceremony, Minister Saeed said the agreement signed today was a key one. He said due to the agreement, trade and major investments can begin between the two nations.
Kuwait has previously invested in the development of INIA and Minister Saeed noted that Kuwait had contributed to the development of the state of the art terminal of the airport.
Minister Saeed added that President Yameen had attached high priority in developing relations between the two countries. He noted that it was a special development that a Kuwaiti Minister had arrived in the Maldives for the signing.
