Dr. Aishath Muneeza has been appointed as the chair of the Maldives Center for Islamic Finance Limited (MCIF).
Dr. Muneeza, an advocate of Islamic finance in the country, was appointed to the position yesterday.
Ibrahim Didi, Senior Manager Corporate Business and Islamic Finance at Housing Finance Development Corporation (HDFC) was appointed as Managing Director of MCIF. Husham Waheed, former Director at the President’s Office, was appointed as a Board Member. One Director position is yet to be filled.
MCIF has three foreigners as Directors. Malaysian Professor Datuk Rifath Ahmed Abdul Kareem, UK citizen Umar Sheikh and Pakistani Afagh Khan is serving in the board.
