Civil Court has decreed that the cases that needed to be filed with the Hulhumale’ division of the Civil Court cab be accepted by administrative desk at the Civil Court main branch in Justice Building.
A statement issued by the Court yesterday said that until Civil Court issues a decree all cases, motions and summons that have to be filed at the Hulhumale’ branch can be accepted by the administrative desk at the Civil Court main branch in Justice Building.
Supreme Court had decreed that it was necessary to establish a civil court branch in Hulhumale’ due to the expanding economic landscape of the country as a means of ensuring easier access to the said branch of the judiciary and strengthen the legal systems.
The ruling said existing judges of the civil court will be appointed to the bench of this division, adding that Civil Court assistance will be sought on the matter.
However, no additional details regarding the appointees had not been made public.
