Indian High Commissioner to the Maldives Akhilesh Mishra has said the Boduthakurufaanu Palace and the Kandhuvalu mosque was a testament to the skill of Maldivians.
Speaking to Miadhu after his trip to HA. Utheemu on Saturday, Mishra said that his interest was piqued by the two monuments.
“I saw the creativity of the Maldivians there. The capabilities of Maldivians that had transcended several hundred years. The monuments were spectacular,”
He especially noted the peephole adjacent to Boduthakurufaanu’s bed, stating that the hole “shows the formula for the modern lens”.
India and Maldives had signed the agreement to protect and preserve historical sites in the Maldives.
