An official function was held this evening to officially mark the Children’s Day.
The function, held in collaboration with Ministry of Law and Gender and Education Ministry, was held in Ghiyasuddin School. Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon was the chief guest of the ceremony.
Unlike the previous years, the entire function was presented and orchestrated by children.
The children who spoke in the ceremony, noted the rights granted to them, noting that child poverty and starvation are not issues present in the country. They also noted that in Maldives health care is provided and that children are not uncared for in the society.
Imaduddin School’s Jewel Center presented a special number on the Portuguese conquest of the Maldives.
