Minister of Home Affairs and Local Government Authority President Umar Naseer has said that the Government will give priority to recruit youth from Neykurendhoo as employees of jail.
He made the statement in a briefing session held with Neykurendhoo Council members regarding the jail to be constructed in Neykurendhoo.
In the meeting held in Home Ministry, Minister Umar said the jail construction project is proceeding at a fast pace. Stating that payment for the pre-fab modules has already been completed, Minister said that as soon as the parts arrive from China, they will be assembled. He added that he will give priority to citizens of Neykurendhoo when recruiting.
The council members Ali Adam and Mohamed Shizan enquired about the jail construction process, including land clearance.
