Doctor sent to Addu City’s Hithadhoo Regional Hospital last Thursday have resigned and left on Saturday,
Hospital’s Assistant Manager Khadeejah Hafsa said that the doctor was a Bangladeshi national employed via an agent. She said that the doctor checked the hospital and was fine on the day he came however he informed that he was leaving the following day,
“He wanted to go on Friday. However because of some problems with the documents he left on Satuday,” she said.
Hafsa said that his doctor is in ICU and he needs an emergency leave. “Since it was only one day since he came he couldn’t get the leave so he resigned,” she said.
“He told that he would come back”
Hafsa said that the IGMH board has been requested to send at least a temporary Gynecologist. “The doctor who worked here previous informed that he will be coming back on 15th October. So we have requested to send a temporary gynecologist,” she said.
Meanwhile, the authorities are investigating the death of a baby who was delivered by c-section.
