Secretary General of the Jumhooree Party, Ahmed Sameer has revealed that President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom will continue discussions with the Jumhooree Party after his Hajj pilgrimage trip.
Sameer said that the President will hold discussions with the Jumhooree Party as promised publicly to the media.
He said that he believes that the discussions have been postponed because the President was busy with the visit of the Chinese President to Maldives and his preparations for Hajj pilgrimage.
Sameer said that the Jumhooree Party leader Gasim Ibrahim’s direct participation in the arrangement of the Chinese President’s stay in his Paradise Island resort is another reason for the delay in the discussions.
“Now the President is performing the Hajj pilgrimage. Therefore I am certain that he will continue holding the discussions as promised following his return from Hajj,” he said.
Sameer said that Jumhooree Party is part of the government regardless of what the opponents claim.
