National Center for Information Technology (NCIT) has tasked Dhiraagu to create connectivity for the Government Network of Maldives (GNM).
The task was assigned in a ceremony held today in Dhiraagu.
The GNM will link all governmental agencies and services including but not limited to Government E-Letter Management Systems (GEMS), central human resource and payroll system, ID card, business licenses, work permits, border controls, court video conferencing, tax services etc. the system is streamlined to provide faster and better services to the public.
NCIT Executive Coordinator Ahmed Azhan Shameem said the service is now streamlined to provide faster and better service to the public, cutting down on processing time. As such, he said the service addition was a boost to the agency, noting that this will link all bureaucratic processes of the entire nation. He said the GNM will link the whole nation, noting the priority given by the President to enhance the services provided to the public.
NCIT’s IT Manager, e-Government Framework, Ahmed Haleem said the GNM will have the capability to run on back up without any service interruptions, in case of emergencies.
