Mahloof presents five witnesses
Mahloof has presented five witnesses on his behalf on the charges filed against him by the state.

In today’s hearing, the Judge had decreed that the witnesses needed to be resubmitted to the Court. State had submitted three Police officers as witnesses.

Mahloof had presented Hussain Ilham, Journalists Ahmed Anwar, Mohamed Wisam, Adam Zareer and MP Mohamed Abdul Kareem.

The charges filed against Mahloof says that he had crossed the police barricades placed at Bodu Thakurufaanu Magu and Mohamed Ismail Didi Goalhi, during the protests carried out from 9.30 pm onwards on March 25, 2015. The charges say that Mahloof had illegally entered an area that was barricaded by Police. Mahloof said that he had not participated in any protest deemed illegal in the Constitution.

An additional charge, also on obstruction of justice had been filed against Mahloof. Mahloof had denied these charges, labeling them as politically motivated.
