Maldives Police Service (MPS) has said that the planned May Day rally, organized by some civil societies to mark the international worker’s day, will not be allowed to proceed as planned.
Police Internal Security Command’s Head Chief Superintendent of Police Hamdhoon Rahseed said they had received information on the planned march from various media sources. However, he said such a march will halt the traffic and impede the free movement of public.
Therefore, he added that the planned march will not be allowed to proceed as planned, taking into account public stake in the matter.
