President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom has stated that the former Prosecutor General Muhthaz Muhsin should be given an encouragement award, such as the Nobel Prize.
He made the statement in his address given in the ceremony held in Kalhuthukkalaa Koshi last night to mark the 124th anniversary of the Armed Forces. President Yameen said those in key positions in the state had become traitors after leaving their positions.
He said Muhthaz Muhsin was the state prosecutor; representing the Government on many cases. However, the President said that once he had left the job, he had attempted to arrest the President on trumped up charges on a fake arrest warrant.
President Yameen said these acts were shameful acts, unbefitting the stature of citizens and that measures have to be implemented on those acts.
