President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom will depart to India on Tuesday, to attend the awarding ceremony of the “Dr Kalam Puraskar for Excellence in Governance 2016”. The ceremony will be held at the Dr Kalam Smirthi at the Dale View, on Wednesday, 27th of April 2016.
The Dr Kalam Puraskar is an annual award initiated by the Dale View Group of Institutions of India, to commemorate India’s Former President Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. The award is conferred to Presidents, Statesmen and leaders in recognition of their excellence in all fields, and for being a visionary in his own right, striving hard to attain the pinnacle of success for the people of his country.
The first Dr. Kalam Puraskar will be conferred this year, to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. The selection committee of Dr. Kalam Puraskar comprises of philanthropists and dignitaries from various fields, including the Former Chairman of ISRO, Ambassadors and Counsel Generals of India.
