Commissioner General of Taxation Yazeed Mohamed has stated that the country needs the assistance of foreign parties to limit the high level of tax fraud cases.
He made the statement speaking in the ceremony held in MIRA on signing the MOU for providing assistance to MIRA.
Speaking in the ceremony, Yazeed said tax fraud was a common occurrence and that it cannot be halted. However, he said that it can be limited. Yazeed said alliances, assistance and support of foreign parties was critical in controlling the fraud. He added that MIRA was getting ready to take part in the global forum.
Yazeed said even though the MOU was signed, tax avoiders will be investigated and sent to PG Office for prosecution.
