President of the Maldives Blind Association, Mazin has said that the hope of individuals with special needs is to participate in international competitions to represent Maldives and win top places.
Mazin made this remark speaking at the news conference held by Dhiraagu to brief the media regarding the their 'Special Sports Festival' is aimed at children with disabilities which is aimed to create an atmosphere for them to showcase their talents and skills.
Mazin said that individuals with special needs are useful to the society as others and it is a wrong belief that they should stay at home.
The President of the Blind Association thanked Dhiraagu for their initiative to showcase the talents of individuals with special needs.
Assistant manager of public relations of the Dhiraagu, Imjad Jaleel stated that this event is being held to create individuals who would be good enough to compete in national, and international events in the future.
He further revealed that the festival is not a competition between the participants, but a platform to recognize and develop the skills of the disabled children.
