America expresses concern over Maldivian jihadi family
America has expressed concern over the Maldivian 12-member family, who had departed from the Maldives last December, especially noting concern that one of the family members was a US trained pilot.

America has stated that Abdullah Mubarak was a certified pilot, trained from the Miami Federal Aviation Administration Department. The authorities stated that he could be used planning an attack similar to the terror attacks of 9/11.

Indian media sources have said that the family had entered India on medical visas, but none of the family members had sought medical treatment in any hospital. Many India publications had criticized Maldives on the issue, failing to address their own security issues.

“Mumbai police had received the information. By the time they reached Mumbai, from Bengaluru, they had already departed for Turkey. This is a colossal intelligence failure both from the police and immigration,” one insider said.

Many Indians and Americans had left their respective nations to take part in the civil conflict in Syria. Many, therefore, feel this comparison to the Maldives is unjustified, unfair and biased.

Many researchers had pointed out that terror groups such as IS had its roots in US led attempts to destabilize nations for their own means, with various groups still providing assistance via covert missions.
