Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has launched their College of Defense and Security Studies.
The College was inaugurated by the Minister of Defense and National Security Adam Shareef Umar, in a ceremony held this morning in Kalhuthukkalaa Koshi. The College, formerly known as Defense Institute for Training and Education (DITE), will provide higher education and training opportunities for army personnel.
Minister Shareef said the College will facilitate research into various defense related issues. He said this was a vital aspect to the nation and the defense sector.
In addition to Defense Minister Adam Shareef, Chief of Defense Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam, Vice Chief of Defense Force Brigadier General Ahmed Shahid, General Officers and other senior figures took part in the ceremony.
