India’s TATA Housing and Maldives’ Hotel Resort Construction (HRC) had expressed to jointly construct 3000 housing units in Hulhumale’.
The companies made the statement speaking to press after formally handing over flats in Arabiyyaa and Gaakoshi grounds. HRC had worked on this project as the local partner in the process.
HRC Chair Mohamed Ali Janah said they were aiming to construct mid-level housing units in Hulhumale’, but will accept any social housing initiatives begun by the Government.
TATA Housing said at the time of the change in the Government they had carried out most of the projects in the Arabiyyaa and Gaakoshi, noting that many of the issues involved the contract. Govindra Singh of TATA thanked the Government for the timely resolution to the issue.
Singh added that the company had always prioritized on economizing and delivering the best service, noting that they had constructed many facilities for the residents of the two areas.
