Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizz has stated that those individuals who had left the nation, who had refused to accept the changes and development ushered in by the Government, would best serve the nation by staying abroad.
He said this while speaking at a ceremony held to launch the housing project, held in Republic Square.
Dr. Muizz added that all citizens who had accepted the development and the changes had remained in the country, noting that those individuals had allied with the President and his team.
Dr. Muizz further said that there will be many naysayers to the housing scheme, similar to the China Maldives Friendship Bridge. However, he said the flats will be made habitable by August 2018.
Dr. Muizz said between 1990 and now, only 9000 flats were constructed in the country, but the agreement for the 15000 flats represented a cleave in the pattern and this was a big achievement for the country.
