Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) Managing Director Adil Moosa has stated that the company will be expanded in line with the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA) development project.
He made the statement speaking in the ceremony held this afternoon to mark 50th year in operations for the airport.
In his address, Moosa said MACL was a fully local company, with over 2500 employees, making MACL the biggest company. He added that with the expansion, an additional 1500 jobs will be created by the company.
He also pledged to begin training programs this year for newly hired employees.
A story board on the past 50 years of the company was unveiled in the ceremony, while a fifty-foot cake was cut to commemorate the occasion.
Finance Minister Abdullah Jihad was the chief guest of the ceremony.
