President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom has stated that SAARC can play a pivotal role in the development of South East Asia, on a global platform.
He made the statement speaking in the joint press conference, given after the high level discussions with India Prime Minister Narendra Modi, held this afternoon in Hyderabad House.
President Yameen said the development of SAARC was tied to the hopes of millions and therefore, SAARC can take a core role in transforming lives. He added that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart, Nawaz Shareef can achieve success. He further said that if the SAARC nations can ally, they can produce a union that is capable of successes and development enjoyed by European Union.
