Seventeen individuals who had served the health sector for over 30 years have been recognized for their service.
Zulaikha Jameel, Hassan Ahmed, Mohamed Ahmed, Zakiyyaa Hassan, Shameema Hussain, Mariyam Abdullah, Umar Hassan, Hassan Samir, Ahmed Waheed, Ahmed Saleem, Fathimath Waheeda,
Mohamed Ahmed, Ibrahim Salih, Moosa Anwar, Dr. Hamid Rasheed, Dr. Naailaa Ibrahim Mohamed Didi and Dr. Abdul Aziz Yoosuf were given shields in recognition of their service.
Some of the individuals commended for the service have over 44 years of experience in the sector
The shields were conferred to the recipients by Health Minister Irthisham Adam in a ceremony held in Islamic Centre to mark the World Health Day.
ARC claimed the Health Ministry award for invaluable services rendered to the health sector. Chief Guest Finance Minister Abdullah Jihad handed over the gifts sponsored by STO, Health Ministry, Happy Market and Allied Insurance.
In his address, Minister Jihad commended the service of health sector professionals and personnel.
The Minister said the communicable diseases had been carefully controlled in the country due to the efforts of many. He noted that many of the service personnel given commendation shields today had served the industry at a time when resources were minimal.
