Maldivians have the capability to succeed: Armando Kraenzlin
Armando Kraenzlin, Regional Vice President and General Manager at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru, has stated that Maldivians have the capability to succeed.

He made the statement speaking in the convocation of the training program carried out by the resort to train individuals for the tourism sector held in National Art Gallery.
Kraenzlin said that even tourists have commended the work ethic of many Maldivians.

“Recently a guest came to Landaa Giraavaru, a close confidant of Oberoi group owner. He commended the work of one employee in the resort. He told me the employee has to be given a job or he will hire the employee for Delhi Oberoi. That employee is a graduate today, who I will not name, as we could lose him to the Oberoi group,” he said.

Kraenzlin stated the students of the 2016 batch were eager to learn and train, adding that this had been the differentiating factor. He noted they select students for the Four Seasons Apprenticeship Program after several trips to different islands from Haa Alif to Addu Atoll, through a thorough vetting process.

Kraenzlin attributed the issues with the job sector due to the differences between the end of school and the beginning of work. He added that in the past 15 years, over 440 graduates were working after having graduating, noting this was an impressive achievement for one company.

“This is a huge amount from one company. If a hundred resorts, airlines, restaurants, transport companies carried out the same initiative to train,” he said.

Kraenzlin also said if a systematic process can be integrated into the system, the sector can create a thousand trained employees.

He thanked TIVET and other agencies and parties who had assisted in carrying out the program.
