President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom has stated that the results of the economic policies engineered by the Government will become apparent to the public.
He made the statement speaking in the ceremony to launch the expansion project of Ibrahim Nasir International Airport held in Dharubaaruge.
President Yameen further added that Maldives was one of the countries that had pledged to take part in the Silk Route initiative, adding the initiative will benefit the Maldives immensely. He also noted Maldives did not have any downsides to taking part in initiatives such as the Silk Route initiative.
Maldives is also a founding member of the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), which will become an easy source of funding for many development projects to be run in the country.
Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed had extended the opportunity to Chinese banks to begin operations in the country. He said he hoped those interest banks will begin operations soon.
