Maldivian businesses have been invited to take part in the Islamic Trade Expo, which will take place end of May in Saudi capital Riyad.
The invitation was extended by the visiting Saudi Deputy Minister Ahmed Alhakbani in the B2B forum held today in Hotel Jen.
Alhakbani said that a 50 meter area had been allocated in the Expo for the Maldives, adding that the area can be extended if the need arises. He added that the area was provided to the Maldives free of charge.
Alhakbani added that Saudi Arabia wished to further enhance existing business relations between the two nations, noting that the Saudi businesses will assist in the process. He also noted that Saudi was an export oriented country, granting concessions and other facilities to exporters.
Speaking to Miadhu Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed said that Saudi market was a viable market for the local fish products and tourism. A shield was conferred to Saudi Ambassador Badr for his services rendered in developing the economies of the two countries.
