INIA WELCOMES SAUDI ARABIAN AIRLINES TO MALDIVES
Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, Maldives – 30th March 2016 – Saudi Arabian Airlines, the flag ship carrier of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia launched its first inaugural flight to Maldives from Riyadh to Ibrahim Nasir International Airport on 30th March 2016 at 0855hrs.

Saudi Arabian Airlines will be operating two time times weekly to Maldives with a B777 aircraft A warm traditional Boduberu with water salute welcomed Saudi Arabian Airlines at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA). Saudi Arabian Airlines Inaugural flight was celebrated with an official function held at Maamehi Lounge at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport.

The function was joined by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Maldives His Excellency Badr Al-Kohail, Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia His Excellency Abdullah Hameed, Director General of Saudi Arabian Airlines His Excellency Saleh Aljasser, Chairman of Maldives Civil Aviation Authority Mr. Ibrahim Faizal and Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL) Mr. Adil Moosa. Both Saudi Arabian Airlines and MACL staff attended the function along with officials from airport related institutions.

At the function the Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Ltd Mr. Adil Moosa said its an honor that Saudi Arabian airlines has become a partner and that he is confident that the airline will add value to INIA and to Maldives and thanked Saudi Arabian Airlines for choosing ibrahim Nasir International Airport in their route expansion.

Director General of Saudi Arabian Airlines His Excellency Saleh Aljasser said that his airline will open up new horizons and the airline will attract Saudi tourists to Maldives as well as from other Gulf countries. At the function a ceremonial cake was cut by the VIP’s and the function was concluded and an official photo shoot and refreshments.
