Independence Day of Bangladesh marked in Maldives
The 45th Independence Day of Bangladesh has been marked in the Maldives.

Health Minister Irthisham Adam was the chief guest of the ceremony held in Dharubaaruge.

Speaking in the ceremony Bangladeshi Commissioner Rear Admiral Kazi Sarwar Hussin stated that the both Maldives and Bangladesh had always enjoyed close a relationship over the years, adding that 2015 was an especially fruitful year.

High Commissioner said that there were many common aspects between the two nations. He added that there were many partnership opportunities between the two countries.

The High Commissioner said that Bangladesh was the third fastest developing country in the world, adding that the country was open to investments from Maldives. He urged Maldivians to visit Bangladesh.

High Commissioner added that in addition to the health sector, defense cooperation between the two countries had also increased over the years.

Senior Government officials and diplomats took part in the ceremony.
