Employees of Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has held a CSR event in IGMH, where they paid visits to patients in the hospital.
Commissioner General of Taxation Yazeed Mohamed said that the event was organized by the employees of the Authority, adding that the purpose of the event was to revitalize a tradition.
“The event was run by donations from the salaries of the staff, not from MIRA budget,” he said.
He added that MIRA will conduct more activities of this nature.
IGMH CEO Rishwan said that the patients always needed the assistance and care of others. He thanked MIRA for their initiative in conducting such a program.
Rishwan added that visiting patients was stressed in Islam as well. He urged companies such as MIRA to conduct additional programs in local hospitals.
