IGMH name usage in Bithufangi under investigation
Health Minister Irthisham has stated that the Ministry will launch an investigation into the usage of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) name in the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) produced “Bithufangi” drama series.

Speaking in a ceremony held in the hospital today, Minister Irthisham said that IGMH was a product, forged with the participation of doctors, teachers and employees at the hospital. Therefore, she said that any portrayal of the hospital has to be without bias or cause any doubts among the public.

“We will investigate the matter as a serious matter, we will investigate this and claim all possible damages under the law,” she said.

Minister Irthisham noted that World Health Organization had published a list of criteria under which health service information can be released, adding that this criteria is publicly available.

She further said that there were mechanisms to resolve health sector issues, noting that criticisms can only be leveled against the sector only after careful review of the circumstances.

Irthisham noted that the sector was undergoing rapid development and that IGMH had improved three times over in the past two years. She thanked the staff of IGMH for their tireless service to the hospital.
