Minister of Law and Gender Mohamed Anil has stated that the lack of unity was the biggest factor in ensuring social security.
He made the statement speaking in the “social protection for all” and bottleneck analysis program for FCSC managers’ orientation program held this morning in Gender Ministry. Minister Anil said that the Government had already passed many laws on social protection, adding that additional laws will be passed in the future.
Anil stressed that stakeholder organizations and agencies need to work together to ensure social protection.
NGOs have noted that over the past few years, the biggest hindrance to fulfilling their mandate was the lack of resources and finding aid. The NGOs said that the number of minors that need social protection is many, attributed to divorces and lack of support following divorces.
Finding a solution for this issues is paramount in resolving the issue.
