Criminal Court has ordered that former Prosecutor General Muhuthaz Muhsin – who has been charged with attempting to carry out a terrorist act and being an accessory to an attempted terrorist act – be kept jailed until end of his trial.
Initially, Muhthaz was charged with forgery of legal documents, attempted illegal detention of an individual and abuse of a legally binding document which is normally issued for specific purposes. However, this was the first time terror charges were filed against Muhthaz.
Muhthaz had denied the allegations in the first hearings of the trial. He was given a seven day period to appoint a lawyer. If proven guilty, he will serve a long jail term.
