Bridge construction equipment unloaded
The equipment to be used in the construction of a bridge linking the archipelago's capital to its island airport, Hulhule, has been unloaded.

Housing Ministry on Thursday said that the equipment aboard the vessel were equipment and machinery, which has been cleared by Customs. This was the largest shipment of the nature and the materials were unloaded by flooding the semi-submersible vessel at a depth of 18 meters.

Housing Ministry added that all construction work pertinent to the sea area will begin in March this year and is expected to be completed by 2018.

The sea area between Male’ and Hulhule’ has been closed off for transportation for the duration of the construction, with vessels being instructed to use the bodu kalhi area.
