No one should play with education system- Teachers Association
Teachers Association has warned that no one politician should play with the education system of Maldives.

The President of the Teachers’ Association, Athif Abdul Hakeem made this remark speaking at the meeting held at Ameeniyyah School on Friday night to announce their protest if their demands are not by the government.

Athif said that the issues in the education sector cannot be always kept as a secret. He said that the education system has been destroyed to pieces and there is nothing more valuable then the education sector of a country.

He warned that no politician should take the education sector as a game and play with it. He stressed that the education sector should be kept and watered as a growing tree glowing with light and bearing fruits.

In addition to this, Athif said that the teachers are an important part of every nation however the education sector do not realize this and are not doing anything to resolve the difficulties faced by the teachers. He said that the education ministry does not even the respect the teachers for that matter.

“What is the meaning of this? This means they are against us. This means there is no other way except for the teachers to take up arms? If they come to us with weapons we will take similar,” he said.

He warned that the teachers will stop teaching and will come out for a protest if their demands are not met.
